Identification key to the Cyrtopogon-species

back to the key to Stenopogoninae start of the key

In Germany, the most common of the three known species is Cyrtopogon lateralis, which is even distributed in the northern lowlands. The other species are restricted to boreo-montane areas in the Holarctic Region and, like most species of Lasiopogon, represent an ecologically distinct group within Asilidae.

Cyrtopogon lapponicus (Zetterstedt, [1838]) from Scandinavia is lacking in this key.
